Staffed by the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius | Serving the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois
Nathalie Corbett,
a native of Chicago, IL,
has attended St. John Cantius
Church her entire life. Growing
up with the youth choirs of St. John
Cantius, she took an interest in the restor-
ation of sacred music at a young age. She's
been a member of their St. Cecilia, Cantate
Domino, and Resurrection Choirs, and a long
time member of their Magnificat Choir. From
2014-2018, she was the assistant Director
of the Magnificat Choir where she would help in the organization of events, the selection of music, and in leading sectionals and sometimes rehearsals. Nathalie was also involved with the Crusaders for Life and the youth programs at Saint John Cantius Church.
Taking her interest in sacred music outside of the parish, Nathalie is the first to graduate
with a degree in sacred music from Loyola University. While attending Loyola, she took
classes in music theory, composition, conducting, vocal pedagogy, studied voice
under Kirsten Hedegaard and Klaus Georg,
and studied the organ under Steven Betancourt.
She was an active member in the choirs at
Loyola, especially with their Schola Cantorum.
Since graduating, Nathalie had an internship
at Queen of Angels Catholic Church as an
assistant director of the children's choir and as
a music teacher, and became the director of
the children's choir at St.Stanislaus Kostka
Church. With her spare time, Nathalie enjoys
composing her own music and has had her
pieces performed at Loyola University,
Saint John Cantius Church, and St. Peter's
Catholic Church in Volo, Illinois.

Nathalie will be assisting with the development of youth and
adult choirs at St. Katharine Drexel Parish. To inquire about
